It seems to me that BMD have painted themselves into a corner by offering an (unstated) lifetime free upgrades policy because *that* doesn't provide the budget for creating a focus on long-term stability in favour of bullet-point features. I know I'm so tempted sometimes to revert to that version :-/ If you just want a functional, perfectly servicable but super-stable version go back to around 15.3 or so. There are far more stable versions that can be downloaded - if you don't need all the new AI features. That means convincing them that Resolve is "more powerful" and "better" than Premiere, Final Cut or whatever - and that requires "bullet-points" on a marketing page.Īs I keep telling people, you don't have to use "the latest and greatest" version of Resolve. Im not exactly sure if these will work in Adobe After Effects. It is perhaps unfortunate that BMD makes zero revenue from existing users so in order to get dollars in the door they have to try and convince *new* customers to buy a studio license. There's a huge learning curve (aka: *cost*) associated with changing horses and right now it seems that nobody has decided to place stability above bullet-points in their development program. where are you going to go if you decide that Resolve is no longer stable enough? The mouseclick sound is the timing of when I input the hotkey to trim the start of the clip The project was not changed other than the change in version. You can see how much more responsive it is than 18.6. It is only cutting, trimming, and other editing aspects that seem to respond sluggishly.Įdit 2: Here's a video clip. I tried resaving the project as a new project.Įdit: Playback is perfectly normal. But now it seems every input lags by several seconds, and I'm not sure why. OS Drive and Project files are stored on a M.2 SSD.īefore editing was very fast. If I undo, it's equally laggy in response. Is there some new setting or something? As an example, if I do the hotkey for trimming the start of a clip, the input lags by a full second, then the clip trims, then the playhead moves about half a second later. After updating and it processing the neural engine stuff, I go into the same project, and now the performance response of trimming, cutting, and editing in general is much much slower. Magic Bullet Looks 2 for Vegas Pro will be available for purchase toward the end of this month or the beginning of next month and is part of Magic Bullet Suite 11.I've just updated to 18.6, and I was working on a project in 18.5.
